Abstract:

Uveal melanoma is a most common intraocular malignant tumor in adults. Though rates of uveal melanoma local control is high, as many as half of patients can develop hematogenous metastases. Some clinical and histopathologic factors, genetic characteristics are associated with an increased risk of metastasis. Early detection of these characteristics is helpful for evaluating prognosis, choicing individualized treatment strategy and prolonging survival time. (Int Rev Ophthalmol, 2016, 40: 306-309)
